food
Fishing, shellfish farming, aquaculture and, of course, agriculture are part of Zeeland's identity. They are sectors that are working hard for the future.
Farmers want to produce as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible, innovation and sustainability are key issues in fisheries, the aquaculture sector is still in its infancy compared to agriculture, and the seafood sector is doing a lot of knowledge development to ensure its continuity.
This requires a lot of research. The labs at JRCZ offer many opportunities for this. Here, students and researchers work in collaboration with the entire food chain and networks such as Food delta Zeeland on innovations for the sector.
